Why free disk space matters
Windows needs free space for updates, temporary work, caches, application installations, browser data, and pagefile behavior. A system drive that is nearly full can feel slow even when the CPU and memory are otherwise adequate.
What is generally safe to clean
Temporary files and clearly disposable application caches can often be recreated. Cleanup should still know which location it is touching and should not recursively erase arbitrary AppData folders.
What a PC cleaner should not wipe blindly
Do not broadly erase event logs, Defender/security history, restore data, user documents, downloads, browser profiles, application data, or unknown folders. Those deletions can remove diagnostics, security evidence, saved settings, or personal files.
Cleanup is not the same as optimization
Deleting temporary files can solve low-space issues, but it does not automatically increase CPU or GPU performance. If the drive has healthy free space and the slowdown is caused by CPU saturation or overheating, cleanup is not the right fix.
